Incorporation of APCL
2016 marks the birth of African Power Coal Limited company as this is when it was officially registered as a corporate entity.
African Power Coal Ltd (APCL) is a Zambian company founded in 2016 with the aim of exploiting Zambia’s natural resources, specifically coal, copper and gold. APCL’s main assets comprise of a number of mineral licenses held in Southern, Central and Copperbelt provinces of Zambia.
The company’s main objective is to maximize value to its shareholders through exploration, discovery and development of opportunities in base minerals within Zambia. It also demonstrates a commitment to sustainability, both individually and as a firm, by actively participating in our community and integrating sustainable business practices wherever possible.
Vision is to be a recognized mining company focused on growing sustainable production delivering on our commitments for excellence and valuing and developing our employees.
Mission is to create and grow sustainable value for our stakeholders through the application of best practices in mining and our commitment to protecting the health and well-being of our employees and the environment in the communities where we work.

In 2020 we began the construction of the road and bridge in Mulungwa leading to our site. It also came to aid the community as school children struggled to cross the river on their way to school everyday in the rain season.
Our mining license got approved for us to commence operations in 2021.
After being approved for a mining license we began the construction of our processing plant.
In 2022 we constructed the overhead power line and installed transformer from Maamba power station.
We began our mining operations in 2022.
